i got a camera

Postby Mad-Dan » Sun Apr 05, 2009 8:41 pm

As some of you will remember, i was after a cheap point and click, mainly to use around work for ebay. anyway, i ended up buying a sony A200K

not a point and click, but it was cheap and has a few good reviews in the mags and such.

Only thing is, the lense is dogturd.

a few weeks back i got my self a cannon EOS 5D and have collected a couple of good lenses, and a couple of not so good ones.

is there a converter available so i can use my EF mount lenses on my sony A mount camera?

i've googled lots, cant seam to find anything

Does a Canon-Minolta adapter not cover it?

I'm unsure on the adapter fella, best place you could ask is over on TalkPhotography, you'll get an answer either way on there.

On a side note, Canon 5D = Nice. :tu:

Nice one Dan. I'm guessing Mk1?

I looked at the 5D but alas it's too slow for moving motorsport for my liking. Mint camera though for everything else.

Welcome to a world of expense.

Yeh, with my shit kodak point and click, theres a few off here that know i've been into cameras for a while, but as i've told them, my photography is quite a personal thing, not really into "showing off my pictures" and anyway, i find taking pictures of cars very boring and un interesting, so the pics i take wouldn't really be relervent on a car based forum.

I started off with cameras in 1979 when my dad gave me my first kodak 110, used that till about 83 or 84 when my dad got me a leica M6 and showed me how to develop my own pictures, carried on with that for a few years, then ended up with a pentax slr, lost interest in doing my own prints, then got into dslr....

I'm not an expert by any stretch of the imagination, but i still beleive that any good picture is 90% photographer and only 10% camera.

obviously that doesnt apply to technical pictures, like the ones V posted the other week, but IMHO, anyone can take a picture like that with the right equipment, only a real photographer can write a noval with a single picture.

TBH this section is as far away from the rest of the forum as can be, so I'd say relevance isn't a factor. But everyone is different when it comes to showing their work, I like to show some of mine and a lot I do nothing with as I've only taken it for myself or it's shit lol.
