Been looking forward to shooting some fireworks this year, but after seeing some photos taken by someone on TalkPhotography, I'm looking forward to it even more.
Fucking UBER stuff.

Found nothing on how to focus though, surely focusing on pitch black sky wont prove easy.

End of the day it's the same as shooting landscape, you're not focusing on one specific area. So either set your lens to infinity (the sideway 8 kind of thing) or find something to focus on that's close to where the fireworks are going to be actually going off and focus on that. Or you could setup whilst there are some shitty fireworks going off early on and focus for that and be ready to rock come the proper ones orrrrrrrrrr setup early (sunset/dusk) and focus for later on, then wait around for hours like a fucking nerd .
Bulb is probably your best bet, although it could be over kill, as it does at least give you the choice of when the curtain is open and closed instead of a timed shot.
Just practice and shoot fucking LOADS lol.
I'm sure if you google some you'll find the answers, or just post up on TP and ask.
