400D?

Postby Hugh Jeers » Tue Aug 19, 2008 8:36 pm

Any good? 18-55 lens in Currys or PC World (can't remember which) for £379.

I thought the choices were all pretty plasticky TBH, but I'm sure I'll go somewhere else and be able to make my mind up. Didn't have a 450D on display, even though they had the cashback brochures on show...

400D is a good camera dude, and £379 is a decent price. It's a very popular camera, and a nice starter kit.

It's not got some of the trick bits that the 450D has, live view, 3" LCD, the new upgraded DIGIC 3 processor, but aside from that they're pritty much the same. Only thing is, they're getting on a little bit now, must be near enough 2 years old, I had mine 18 months & they'd been out a little while before hand.

It's a good camera, and you'll learn a lot with it, go for the 450D if you can though as you'll get all the new technology.

For the extra features that the 450d has, if you can stretch to that dude... I'd get that. If you are short on cash then get the 400d....

It is a good price though.

Probably will do in all honesty fella. Cameras seem to be everywhere at the moment, even seen a D60 with TWO lenses for less than £400  Fucks sake.

Nikon's are gay.

That deal Mike posted, the 450D kit for £429 is a fucking CRACKING price. You'd be paying at least £100 more than that normally.

Edit - What lens is the 70-200 that's with the 20D mate? They do about 4 different versions.

Canon EF 70-200mm f/4 L USM
Canon EF 70-200mm f/4 L IS USM
Canon EF 70-200mm f/2.8L USM
Canon EF 70-200mm f/2.8L IS USM

The cheapest, which is the 70-200 f/4 L USM, being about £400 new.

Can't remember now fella. Will have a look if it's there next time. Probably stolen from the boot of a car by some smackhead, it's in the local cash convertors thingy...

Ask them how much they want for the lens itself, how old it is etc. L series lenses FTW.

It won't be L glass, not for that price. More then likely an old EF lens.
