You currently pay for a website, that stands you in hundreds of pounds worth of debt. You spend a huge portion of your free time, updating it, and looking after it, and arranging events etc...

This website is full of pedantic, pathetic posts between people who have no idea about community or banter, are unoriginal, unfunny and plain hurtful at times.

You're reaching a point of the year where you have to rehost this said site and again take another huge twatting in the wallet.

What would you do in all honesty please? Would you really consider spending another large amount of money to keep it running, or would you just cut your losses?

Mike I have told you time and time again of a reliable good and cheap host. LISTEN TO ME.

The board has gone down hill due to constant personal problems between a few users. This needs to be addressed be them friends or not. Either pack it in, stop stooping down to personal shit stiring, stop fucking whinging or fuck off. Simple really.

The best thing for this board would be to: -

Shift it to another reliable host (see above)

Shake up the current staff, those that only have rights just to have them because they always have/will cry if removed lose them

Add responsible users to mods team (no more admin) but these people must be willing to actually moderate, but within reason so no power trips or nazi rulings

Either remove the flame room or actually use it as a sin bin to move/split posts going off track to be battled out away from the general public

Sort out Bex. Now before you start I don't have a problem with you but EVERY post I have seen from you in the past weeks has been fucking moaning about how your so hard done by. What do you expect when you have your username changed to skippy (and it's not even ironic)?

Place a paypal donations link on the forum index

Start to realise that as you are the site owner/admin you will make friends through the site/board but you also have to be able to moderate/administrate with no bias or fear. If people don't like that then it's tough shit. If they wish to continue using the board then they will abid by the rulings and your/mods decisions (Admin/Mods decision is final etc). This could lose you some friends but are they really true friends if they can't accept that the good of the board/site outweighs any special priviledges that they may feel/think they have? And if you make a threat to ban people due to constant rule breaking follow it through.

Now I know that some of the above is going to upset some people but if the truth hurts then maybe you should be looking elsewhere to post?

Mike at the end of the day what you choose to do with BTTOS if your decision and no-one elses. If you keep it on put your foot down with the rules and re-coup some cash. If you kill it then there will be life after BTTOS, as hard as it maybe to believe, and you won't miss the debt your building because of it.

I think the boards are very useful for the likes of organising events etc. Althought I have only been to Rochdale once and officially attended one cruise with you lot due to wheel bearing issues, I do enjoy being part of the boards and ultimately the community.

Payday comes 18th of this month and I'd be willing to chip in £20-30 towards the hosting..

It's all well and good saying it all used to be arranged over phones etc, but, the forum is what makes this site at the moment IMO.. It's a huge laugh. No point going back to how it used to be because, I think we'll lose quite a few people along the way.

The site has grown and grown like mad recently, I remember when JAM used to go drifting around the bottom of the carpark at the Bolton meet, and there was only a few of you on there (not that long ago I know, but long enough for me) and since then it seems the site has exploded.

If you shut it down and get rid, you WILL regret it.

People are saying the site has gone down hill recently, tbh, I've not seen any of it? I know there has been a load of shit, but post shit, and expect an eKicking from the usual lot. I don't tend to take stuff to heart, and I just laugh it off..

I'm rambling on like a stuttering motherfucker here, but SUBS wouldn't work IMO, people would only pay if they had benefits, and TBH just a forum isn't a big enough benefit for new members. Like it's been said the hosting should be sorted, by a few people chipping in.. I'll have a look around, and see if I can try and sort some hosting..

Just don't close the site!

You definatly need to sort out your admin and mods because some of yours are breaking the rules there supposed to be protecting...

Ive had a read through this post and even in this delecate subject Natty you still directly throw insults at bex (now i dont no either of you so i aint taking sides) but jesus how shallow if the best you can come up with is fat slagg etc etc etc give it up and move on and as advised many many times if u dont like her skip her posts and just ignore her, one day your gonna say something to the wrong person and it will all end in tears..

Top and bottom of it is if it wasnt for this site a lot of people wouldnt be able to keep in touch with each other, right down to the younger cruisers who dont have cars and post for a lift....

Jaffa is on DC, that boards stable as ever, also willing to help fund 6 months hosting on here, and currently in the process of building another site am not at liberty to discuss.

Mac helps runs YC, a very well established and known cruise site, has had a feature car, and contributed to a few cruises organised from people on here.
