I started this project in the worst possible fashion. I was young and stupidly fucking dumb and just went about throwing stupid things into my car. Mainly because I knew nothing about the car scene as the only ambition I had was the turnout at Stockport on Thursday night. Gash is an understatement.

So for some obscure reason, I set out to make the car into a show car. I knew nothing about what needed to be done and things alike. But reluctantly I sent the car away for body work and to be sprayed.

The car stayed as it did for a few months till I realised what I did was horrifically wrong and I wasn't into the show car look AT ALL. I'd been on the track with a few friends of mine in a vast majority of cars. And I decided that I wanted to make the C2 into a Track Slag, so this, now is my on going project. It's all a little bit backwards up until now.

I realise I may get some stick for it, but hey... Like I said, I knew I was young and stupid and eager to give my car POWERZZ N TINGZ. But I've got a set mind as to of what I want now. So here goes.

Ok, I got the car in April 2008, picked it up for £3,500 with one previous Lady owner. The car itself was in full working order apart from one of the washer jet hoses having a slight split in it, which caused a fault with one of the electronic fuel injectors by dripping water onto it. So first things first was to have that sorted. After that, you could tell the previous owner never really took any care for the way the car looked, scuffed wheels, dented doors, small scratches and never a polish since it left the show room!
So first things first was Window Tints, 94% on rear and 40% on front which was done by Ste at Solar Guard Tinting. Also purchased a set of Lexus smoked rear lights from CiTuning for £40.

I then purchased a set of beat up alloys for £80, just to quickly get away from the Wheel Trim luck till I could afford a refurb or better set.

Then after hating the bright standard nylon orange seats, I stripped out the rear and purchased a set of White/Black bucket seats.

I then decided I wanted a new exhuast, so I thought I would go for the VXR exhaust, the guys at Exhausts UK did an awesome job.

So after the seats I decided that I wanted to go for a White/Black scheme.
So the wheels were sent off to be powder coated white.

I then decided after a couple of months it was time to get the C2 noticed properly and spend a substantial amount of money on it.
So I booked the car in for the following modifications.
-Complete re-spray, Audi white and Ford Panther black.
-Smoothed handles.
-Smoothed side repeaters.
-Smoothed aerial.
-Badges removed + smoothed.
-Old exhaust recess smoothed.
-Rear window wiper removed.
-Rear window jet removed + smoothed.
-Door side strips smoothed.
-Door poppers fitted.
-HotTuning Coilovers fitted, 80mm front, 70mm Rear.
-Angel eye headlights fitted.
-Internal Aerial fitted.

Just a quick update, car was clayed today… Didn't have time to polish and wax, due to the darkness being upon us!
I also took out the fog lights and covered them with a yellow tinting film.

Okay, this is the part where I decided I wanted to go down the track route.

Okay, so I got myself down to Demon Tweeks today, and went a bit crazy to be honest.
I was sick of the reclining bucket seats, and as I'm hoping to get on the track, I thought I may aswell upgrade to fixed bucket seats, I was limited to choice because of the subframes built for Citroen C2's are only bottom mounts rather than side mounts. So out of the many few I had to choose from, these were the nicest IMO.

I then also upgraded my steering wheel to the OMP 300mm suede wheel.

Flocked Dash.

So obviously started by ripping out the old dash and removing all the loveable stuff you want in a car, such as heaters, stereos and clocks.

Last night me and a few friends decided that I was on too much of a downer to do nothing for the night, so we went to the local shop to stock up on Monster Energy Drinks and then to B&Q to buy dust sheets, primer and paint.

We started by using a heat gun and then scraping out all the sound deadening off the boot floor.

Then we started to prep the car with dust sheets and tape.

We then started wet and drying the whole inside of the rear of the car (not going to spray the front half until my new cage is in from Gary).

And got one coat of primer down before we went in for the night at 1am.

Going to get another coat of primer down today and then start getting the colour sprayed.

So after all the prep work on the Tuesday, we started to get more primer down on the Wednesday (yesterday).

Started by clearing away all the sound deadening underneath the front seats. I must say, this was a all hands on deck effort to get this stuff off!

All the sound deadening finally out, we sanded it down and then was ready for a coat of primer.

Whilst the primer was drying, we didn't know what to do... So I came up with the obscure idea of throwing a random colour into the 'scheme'... 'Queerly' I chose pink.

So we started off by sanding down the handbrake mechanism and the sub frames.

Primer dried we gave it a light sanding before another coat of primer, and then applied the pink.

Whilst waiting for the 'pink bits' to dry, we started with the Satin Black inside the car.

Painting done, it was time to rebuild the car.

Started by putting the seats back onto the sub frames and attaching them and the handbrake to the car.

Next is to spray the front part of the car where the pedals are.

This is the most pointless thing in the world, but it's mainly for the shows to fill up the windscreen.
Will all be coming off after Trax.

Also a new colour has been decided on the car, waiting on a new engine first.

Okay, so the show cage was took out and is being sprayed Pink to match the other bits I sprayed.

Keeping the show cage till I send the car off to a specialist next year for a full FIA approved cage.

First we started sanding down the cage with wet and dry, starting with a low grade working up to a high grade for a smooth finish. Then we got a few coats of primer down on each part of the cage.

With the car being stripped out in preperation for being a track car, it obviously isn't the neatest of things, which is why I have been 'tidying' up the rear of sound deadening and then spraying satin black, to make it seem like a nicer place to be, rather than the colour of raw french metal. In my opinion it's coming along great.

But obviously part of stripping out the car is to remove all plastic trim, which is why the door cards went ages ago! But getting fed up of the 'scruffy' look, I decided to get myself some MORE carbon fibre and use them as door cards.

Firstly, I started by drilling out the speakers in each door, with me having no stereo leaves them no point in being there other than adding weight.

I've not put them on the current doors, as I am recieving my two new doors on Friday with handles which have been in the body shop for a lick of paint.
I will do the same to them, remove the speakers, and will then take a grinder to the door skin and cut away any uneeded excess metal.

Okay so as you know this is a slow progress in turning the C2 into a track weapon.

Just been gathering a list of essentials that need doing and I thought I would share them with you.

VTS engine and running gear with substantial amount of work such as bodies, cams so on and so forth.
Stand alone ECU.
Rear beam conversion.
Uprated brakes.
New Seats.
Thicker harnesses.
Full roll cage.
New coilovers.
Differential.

Still not managed to come across the engine yet, but now that I'm almost ready to finish my level 3 in mechanics, it wouldn't make sense for me to give the car to someone to do a relatively easy engine conversion, so I will be doing it myself with step by step updates.

Cash is dry at the moment, so nothing big will be happening till next year. I just want to get my hands on a VTS lump before Christmas and start work on that.

Haha, the pink isn't staying for ever dude. Once the new cage is welded in, the car is going to be stripped down to a bare shell so the inside of the car can be sand blasted and then powder coated... Not chosen on a colour yet.

So as you can see, this project didn't start in the best of ways. But it's now going in the right direction...

I'm currently looking at a new car so the C2 can come off the road whilst It's finished.

The first task would be to strip down the car, down to its bare shell and get the new cage welded in. Once the cage is welded in the car will be sent off to a powder coating firm to have the engine bay and inner shell sprayed white, including the cage.

Then it's time to rebuild the car whilst sticking the C2GT engine in the front, running on stand alone ECU with various methods of tuning to the engine;
Throttle Bodies
Cams
Pistons
Rods
Etc, the usual stuff you would expect from a 'track car'.

Like I said, I realise I might get a bit of stick for it. But there isn't any need as I know I fucked up in the first place.
