Been a number of times now where Ive had the chance to take some cracking pictures but my point and press just isnt up to it. I have a bit of money in the bank and I keep looking at DSLR cameras again, although I dont think they are any cheap than back home.

Ive took a fancy to this one

Sony DSLR-A200 w/ 18-70 lens $480

By the time I add tax thats about $550ish, and at todays exchange rate Id be looking at about 310GBP.

Not sure if thats good or not.

Looking at this compared to others of a similar price, this seems to have a better lense?? Any other suggetions, baring in mind the prices shown in Canada, all get the Tax added on after.

My advice, go down to a camera shop and have a play with the different camera's fella. What looks good on paper might feel completely shite to use.

Had a look in the shop at lunch. Not really wanting to spend the money on an DSLR so looking at the ultra zoom cameras.

Seen the Fuji S1000 and S8100 aswell as the Panasonic FZ18 which I like the feel off, all are around $220-230 so thats about GBP120-130ish.

What we thinking, worth me bothering?
