Well this is my Sierra shapped P100, AKA "The Pooie"

I got it last week as Stacey had lay claim to my current car, not been one to like "run of the mill" cars and like to be driving something you don't see a million of every day, i went with this as a bit of a project.

when i picked it up, the rear lights didn't work, had a bad oil leak, the O/S headlight and main beam wouldn't work and one of the front beakes had seized.

and appart from all that, it was dog rough but solid as a rock under it.

Not sure exactly what i'm going to do with it but i do have a 2.9 V6 and 4wd MT75 gear box, so i may fit that at some point, but for a start, i've fixed the above faults and i've made a start of the bodywork.
Well, this was what it looked like last week.

so, First thing i wanted to do, was sort the pov-spec bumper and those ugly rub strips which were all mangled anyway. Rubstrips removed and the front end changed for a XR4x4 front, when i find one at the right money, i'll replace the bumper with a cossy one.

Next job was the rear hatch, it was really past what i could fix, even if i got rid of the rust, I would of never managed to get the "FORD" logo back.

So, 10 min's on google and one was found, it's not new, but it was in very good condition, i was told finding a good one would be like finding hen's teeth, but i didn't struggle at all.

Then, time for a re-paint, i enrolled the help of my old fella, not the "best" job, but it freshens it up and he works for free, and the last car he painted for me still hasn't rusted 5 years later. it's not too bad and i have seen a lot worse, so i'm very happy with it.

So thats the primer, a quick flat back and time for some top coats....

and thats how it stands at the moment, so next job is to give it a good buff and get it back togeather, I'll update when i get that far..

Right, done a bit more to it....

First off, i've managed to fit a trim, i don't have any pics of what it did look like but think of early 90's transit van. Plastic seats, rubber flooring and vinyl door cards.

I've fitted Half leather seats from a mk6 Escort GTi, center consal, arm rest and carpets from a XR4x4 and door cards from a GLS, i could do with some darker door cards but these will do for now.

Obviously it could do with a good clean, and i'll do that when it's finished, bit pointless at the moment as i'm still working on it and getting in and out of it in my dirty cloths.

Next job was the wheels, i was having a mare trying to get a set of wheels that would fit it, even with PCD adapters i was struggleing with the offset. Anyway, i had a set of subaru wheels that would just about squeeze under the archs with the PCD addapters, so i went with those, had my PCD addapters custom made at program engineering in eccles, the guy did a awesome job, had to have them made as there was no off the shelf ones available for the PCD of the car.

this was one of the rear ones, the fronts are a little different

The next job was to put the rest of the outside togeather, my god there was a lot of nuts and bolts, the really worrying thing is, i seam to remember where they all go, Thats bordering on GEEK :(

so this is how it looks now....

So, still do to, need to get that suspension lowered, the easy option is lowering blocks on the back, but with it been a pickup, the arse end is stiff as, i could do with softening it up a little, so i'm going to look into de-arcing the springs and removing a leaf, then see how much it drops before i make my blocks.

other than that, there a leak on the load sensor, so i need to remove this too, it'll never get loaded up with anything heavy, so it's not really needed, i'll just have to fit a manual bias switch.

so thats it for now....

comments welcome.

Well, I had a leaf removed, and a bit of a de-arc on the rear springs, put it back togeather with some 3" lowering blocks. This is as low as the back end is getting without getting new springs.

put some -50 springs on the front, still all sits a bit higher than i'd like, but i think the front will drop when the V6 is fitted so untill then, it can stay as it is.

Just need to find a black tonneau cover for the back now and cosmeticaly it's finished.

next job is the engine, think it'll take me a while to get that done tho as i want to re-build it before i fit it.

After a bit more tinkering, thats it. It won't go any lower. Not without chopping bits of the chassis out which isn't going to happen. it's never been welded and i'm not about to start now.

I've also fitted the exhaust back box which i had to make, and i've borded the top of the bed off, just waiting for a sewing machine so i can make a new black cover, then i can fit the electric motors for the automatic opener for the load cover.

Things have slowed down a fair bit now, funds are low due to kids birthdays and trying to sort a holliday out but slowly getting there now.
