Finally got myself a nikon 70-300vr, so thought i'd go try it out
most of the photo's are noisy, that's my fault for leaving it on auto iso :wall:
still need load's more practice, as these are not that great, think this is the 3rd time trying now

I think they are superb mate! When I'm shooting moving stuff like that, I normally use aperture priority... save me haveing to mess about with the settings too much.

Really into them though :tu: nice work

Not bad fella

The colours don't look quite right (not sure of the term?) but thats probably a setting you could tweak. You're definitely getting the cars in focus though instead of the background!

Awesome effort that fella, definatly got the right idea on the panning, plenty of motion in the wheels etc.

Were you using AI SERVO as your focusing setting? Just that one of them looked slightly soft and out of focus, like the focus had slipped for a second when you took it.

they was on aperture, gonna give shutter a try next, as it will help with the change in lighting, sun poping in and out

prob didnt quite follow the car perfectly for the pan, might be with it's a bit oof

AF-C (continuous servo) for focus
single area for af-area, think i should of used dynanic now

next time i go, going to double check settings

What model Nikon are you using fella?

On mine, albeit a Canon, I've got 3 custom settings on my turn-wheel, so I can create my own custom settings, and flick between them easily. Something like that would be good for motorsport IMO.

I'll be honest fella, I had a go of one just after I got my 400D a few years back, and I absolutely fucking HATED it, but it's each to their own, and whatever works best for the person in question. :tu:
