Ok i was just bored so thought id try to do a HDR photo.

1. Im shit with my camera still as haven't learnt much with it.
2. I cant use photoshop for shit and im crap with computers :(

But here you go. Took about 4 shots of the same object at different apertures in Raw and stuck them in photoshop to do its magic following this guide -

C&C welcome as i want to learn!

It's very out of focus kev? What camera have you got again? I've got a setting on mine where it will take three shots, one at normal exposure, one under exposed by say a stop, and one over exposed by the same amount.

Tripod for HDR is a must.

You also need to get Photomatix too mate.... it's FAR FAR easier than photoshop and merges the pictures and also aligns them up for you too incase they are out slightly like what yours are.

You do know you can take one shot, then save 3 or 4 different versions of it by editing the exposure in lightroom too? Gives you a crystal clear HDR mate... it's not as good as getting the actual snaps but it's a technicque I've used to HDR photos of moving things, when obviously you can't take three identical shots.

Tbh mate, you need to be outside to get a decent HDR shot IMO. Something with plenty of shadows and highlights.

Mikes talking about the AEB (auto exposure bracketing), where it'll take 3 shots at the set exposures.

That available on my 400D as well?

Kev I know nothing about HDR, but as said above its the out of focus that is messing my eyes up!

Go into your menu system (cant remember for the life of me how to get into it now on the 400D), there will be an option that either says AEB, or looks like this:-

-2...1...0...1...2+

Click on the option, and there will be a little line (about half the size of this > | < on 0, use your scroll wheel and it should split into 3. The original | will stay on 0, and the other two will move one dot at a time away from each other. Scroll your wheel until you get them both onto 1.

Then, go into your timer settings and set it to 10 second timer (assuming you know how to do this), focus the photo, press the shutter and it should take 3 photos, one after the other. One at the correct exposure, one slightly under exposed and one slightly over exposed.
