Complete noob, full of trial and error, just trying to experiment and 'get to know the camera' as I've only had it 2 days. Any tips would be great.

I understand these pictures really won't cut it with those in the know, but I'm willing to learn and listen to any help! Heavy in HDR content too, I like this look... but again, something that needs perfecting with regards to the light/colour balances etc.

One thing I am struggling with is dark skys in a lot of pictures (both edited and un-edited)- pics are large, sorry!!! Pretty please for a first go, but know I have SO much to learn.

And my Dog, Max, who's literally followed me round, all afternoon whilst I took pics!

Think the last two before the dog have camera shake, but they all look ok :) Better than my first shots.

Mish my only advice would be that you learn to use the camera and it's functions before you even worry about Bo...ruining every shot by HDRing them or over processing them in Photoshop.

Oh and the camera shake is probably due to your using the on camera trigger button. Get an eGay wired remote lead for about £2 and that will probably kill it. If not a more stable tripod and protection from the wind.

As Sy said, even by just clicking the shutter release button on the camera when on a tripod you get some mild shake, I use same thing that sy does, some gook contraption that works a treat.

Quite a lot of ghosting in the photos too... like Sy said, try just getting to grips with the aperture etc first before going HDR crazy, although I too love the HDR look. :D

Good efforts.

What I was going to say has already been said, just learn to use the camera & learn about photography itself, and then begin editing.

LOL Marcus... I'd call you a twat- but I laughed at that

Guys, cheers for all the advice- some very good points.

I'm not trying to run before I can walk, have plenty of unedited pics here, just unfortunately for me I have a HDR fetish! I understands all your points though and they will defo been taken on board and learnt from.

Sy- I was going to ask about those trigger buttons, but didn't know whether they'd be worth it- you've answered my question though!

Ta :)

If your not shooting anything moving , which lets face it you do about 1% of the time with a tripod , use the 10 sec timer feature on the camera for now , no shakes then.

Not bad mish , giz a shout one weekend if you wanna come take some pics and what not , i'll show you some neat tricks with the 400D
