Ok...well I will be the first to admit that these aren't my best work PMSL.
I was trying to get Mike's flashgun to remotely fire off mine, which it should do, and it worked...as long as it was about 1ft away from mine and being held in direct line of sight from mine.. So I got annoyed and then just had a play with long exposure and second curtain flash.
Anyway. None of the results were that good so I decided to bo...HDR one of Jays, as I'd already taken three differently exposed shots. The one of Mike's is slightly brightened, as I had the flash power set too low and sharpened. Then I decided to see what it would look like in B&W and decided that the Auschwitzesque look of the shot kind of suited it.

Not keen on the shot of Jays, or the B&W shot of Mikes, but the colour version looks good, allthough i'm wondering if it'd look better without the 2 lights behind the car shining through.

I'd say similar to the above. I find my eyes getting distracted by the two lights and not looking at the image of the vehicle.
I kind of like the style of the first one.

To be honest all of these pictures I was too busy fucking about with the flash(s) to really pay that much attention to anything else. Didn't even realise those lights were directly in shot until I was playing with the shots this morning. Although thanks to the pikie fencing, barbwire etc the lights lend themselves nicely to the B&W I think. Looks like search lights...and "obviously" that was the look I was going for :pmsl:.

I highly doubt it ;)

I dont get whats so wrong with taking a normal picture? :?
Why does every pic have to be played with, surely if your that good a photography then you wouldnt need to photoshop stuff?
Just my opinion btw before i get my head ripped off.

Even the best adjust their pictures to make them stand out. Alot of the time its correction work and not just to make them look better but to make them how you wanted them in the first place.
I think Mike's R32 would of been better if there wasnt a MASSIVE blank at the top of the picture. It draws your attention away from the car. In fact the blank is actually bigger than Mikes car!! Try and chop the top off the picture upto where the Smoke/Mist hits the side of the frame of the picture.
The BMW is WELL over developed. I don't know if that is what you were after but i think it might of been better if you took a step back and got the whole of the car in the picture.
Still good effort. Practice will only make you better ;)

Tweedie, thanks for the feedback. I feel I should however reply. The image of Mike's is utilising the rule of 3rds. It's the most common photography style in the world, used by nearly every pro lol. I do however have the exact same shot but in landscape. But like I said all of the shots were pretty crap, so I wouldn't hold your breath for it appearing anytime soon.
Jay's is HDR'd. I'm not a massive fan of that type of processing nor am I any good. But overall I'm failing to see the overexposure. :? Unfortunately I was shooting at 11pm at night, down a dark street with 4 different types of lighting and only one flashgun, but to make it worse there were four ugly cunts leaning on the bootlid.

Not always.
If you can use a camera properly and are good at what you do, the photos will what you wanted straight off the camera, and need no editing what-so-ever.

Depends what you are looking for. A lot of my shots, I just take directly from the camera, no editing. I may look at editing in future, but it's not something I'm really interested in at the moment.
